High Support, Low Pressure
Our staff adopt a ‘high support, low pressure’ approach to helping every student achieve more than they believed possible. Their commitment to inspiring a lifelong love of learning and enjoyment of their subject results in students achieving outcomes which way surpass their academic trajectories. From a student's point of entry to the school, our staff are on a mission to find and maximise their individual strengths and interests, guiding them on a journey to find their True North.

HOW WE TEACH
Smaller class sizes.
With an average class size of 20, we are able to differentiate teaching and learning and ensure the curriculum is tailored to each individual's needs.
Class sizes are smaller still at GCSE with an average of 10-15 students. Not only does this benefit academic outcomes but allows our teachers to provide outstanding pastoral care, from the point of transitioning to and settling into the school, to ongoing observation of each child’s growth, development, and welfare.
Individually tailored curriculum.
Every learner is different, which is why we get to know and understand every child as an individual - so that we can truly tailor the teaching and learning experience to their personal needs and abilities.
Every child benefits from one-to-one support and through careful planning, monitoring and evaluating, we ensure pupils are stretched and challenged to achieve their full potential.
Research informed teaching and learning.
We use evidence-based research to inform teaching methods and develop metacognition in our students, enabling them to effectively evaluate their own learning behaviours.
Our collaboration on research projects with UCL’s Institute of Education and experts on the adolescent brain allows us to deliver a progressive, forward-thinking educational experience, understanding our learners and guiding them on the journey from pre-teen to young adult.
We have implemented a later midweek start time to reflect current findings regarding teen sleep, with staff benefitting from weekly CPD during this period.
Bridging industry and education.
With diverse industry experience that extends way beyond the four walls of the classroom, our teachers not only impart knowledge but inspire, challenge, and engage students in ways that prepare them for the complexities of the real world.
At North Bridge House, we are proud to have a diverse faculty whose professional experiences extend beyond traditional education. Our teachers bring unique perspectives and real-world insights into their classrooms, equipping students with skills and knowledge that prepare them for the challenges of the future.
