WELCOME TO HAMPSTEAD SENIOR AND SIXTH FORM
At NBH Hampstead Senior School and Sixth Form, children aged 11-18 are immersed in the widest range of subject experience, delivered by an inspiring team of teachers who are dedicated to finding and maximising the strengths of each individual. A stone’s throw from North London’s famous Hampstead High Street, we are rooted in the rich local heritage of Hampstead village and alive with a unique creative energy. Underpinning our rich curricular and extra-curricular offering, our ‘high support, low pressure’ model helps every student achieve more than they believed possible, celebrating outcomes which way surpass their academic trajectories at the point of entry.
ENRICHED AND EXPERIENTIAL
The curriculum at Hampstead Senior School is much more than a programme of study; it prioritises breadth of knowledge, diverse experience and cross-disciplinary thinking. Beyond our brilliant Visual Arts department which contributes to our culture of creativity, we embed innovative ways of doing things across the entire curriculum. Students embrace constant opportunities to present and perform, whilst enrichment activities span everything from philosophy to sustainability.
WHERE EXCELLENCE MEETS OPPORTUNITY
We’re excited to announce our new Sixth Form, offering holistic university preparation in the heart of Hampstead, is opening in September 2025.
With flexible curriculum, personalised learning, and a robust careers and university preparation programme, we welcome you to discover your True North at our Sixth Form.
TEACHING WITH A DIFFERENCE
Our mission is to ensure that teaching is not only tailored to the individual but is progressive in bringing to life our diverse curriculum. Our staff are truly dedicated to inspiring a lifelong love of learning and enjoyment of their subjects, and weekly CPD supports their commitment to being the best at getting better. Many of them bring not only teaching expertise but industry experience, sharing transferable skills and insight into successful careers in competitive sectors.
WE WOULD LOVE TO SHOW YOU AROUND
Join us at an Open Day to see the school in action, hear from the Head, and meet our brilliant staff and pupils. Private tours are available if you cannot make the next Open Day, or if you are looking for a mid-year or immediate vacancy. We are here to personalise your tour experience.

Our Nursery and Pre-Prep pupils have the chance to slow down and engage deeply with the natural world during Forest School.
Whether they’re searching for woodland creatures under logs, spotting tracks near the trees, or getting creative with mud painting, every activity encourages curiosity, independence, and resilience - there’s space to explore, listen, and reflect.
These outdoor sessions support early development in the best way, through play, movement, and imagination. They help build confidence within our children, communication skills, and a sense of calm that only nature seems to offer.
It’s early learning that’s grounded, quite literally, in the world around them. 🌳🪵🐌

Last month, Year 1 stepped back in time at the London Canal Museum, experiencing what life was like aboard a traditional narrowboat!
They learned about the history of London’s canals and how they shaped London’s past, climbed aboard the Wickham Diesel Tractor to see how goods were transported, and even took a trip on the water. A fascinating day of hands-on learning!

⭐️ Sixth Form Update ⭐️
In our last week of term, Hampstead Sixth hosted our Sixth Form Open Evening for internal and external students to learn more about our new community.
We were delighted to be joined by Professor George Alexandridis from Henley Business School. Mr Alexandridis holds many roles at Henley across both the Senior Management team and Executive Committee but spoke primarily in his capacity as Co-Director of Henley Careers and Professional Development. He is also an NBH parent himself!
His talk discussed the future of careers, university decision making, and the importance of exploration before university. He noted that according to recent studies, one-third of university students regret their choice of subject!
The ability to explore through co-curricular activities, community partnerships, and academic study while still in Senior School and Sixth Form is so vital to making decisions for the future. Our curriculum allows all students to explore their passions, and find new unique routes towards their future ambitions.

Last term, Year 8 Drama explored theatre design, turning shoeboxes into mini stages and stepping into the role of lighting designers!
With torches, coloured gels, and tiny ‘actors,’ they discovered how light creates atmosphere, signals the time of day, and reflects a character’s emotions. Inspired by ‘The 39 Steps’, pupils staged key scenes, experimenting with eerie shadows, bold spotlights, and colourful effects to bring Richard Hannay’s adventure to life. A brilliant way to see how lighting can shape a story on stage! 🔦🎬

Looking back at our Cornflower seeding session from the Spring Term, a lovely moment of growth and unity as we continue our journey to becoming Alleyn’s Hampstead Nursery and Junior School!

Our Nursery and Pre-Prep children hopped into Spring 🐰 at our inaugural Spring Bonnet Parade 👒
We loved seeing everyone’s fabulous and fun bonnets - including everything from sustainable materials to creative themes like Peppa Pig, Pokémon, space, Minecraft, unicorns and Formula 1 racing. Each hat really captured the essence of every child!
Thank you to all who attended and supported the children in making this parade such a special occasion.
What a great way to end the term and celebrate the season of Spring! 🌸🌷

⭐ Hampstead Sixth Form Update ⭐
We’re delighted to announce Mr Dan Clarke as Head of Year 12.
Dan’s journey in teaching is unique. He originally trained as a physiotherapist but has extensive experience across various sectors in teaching and coaching.
As the current Head of Year 11, he’s excited to continue his journey with this group of students – a relationship that started all the way back when they were in Year 7.
Dan also brings a passion for educational experiences that allow students to look outwards and expand perspectives on the world beyond North London – whether through community partnerships, academics, or co-curricular activities.
With his background, Mr Clarke is especially excited about our Sporting opportunities in Sixth Form, including our new Sports Leadership Certificate (Level 3 Qualification).

🌅 Sunrise with Year 11 🌅
This morning, our Year 11s took to Parliament Hill for a sunrise celebration of their Senior School experience. Students took time to reminisce together, and with their favourite teachers, before heading to campus for a group breakfast 🍳
An extra shoutout to honorary Year 11s, Otto and Levi for joining the celebration too! 🐶
