We believe in developing the whole child.
We are focused on delivering more than just an academic education by developing the character of our pupils and enhancing their wellbeing.
Our extra-curricular offering is key to our character education programme, to the health and happiness of our students and to growing them into rounded young adults. With creative enrichment embedded into the school timetable, plus a whole host of after school clubs, trips, musical and theatrical opportunities, we nurture our pupils’ interests and open their eyes to the wider world.

These are just a few of the much-loved extra-curricular activities offered in our schools.
Environmental council
From our Nursery and Pre-Prep ‘Eco-Warriors’ to our Plants, People and the Planet group at NBH Senior Canonbury, our various environmental and sustainability councils are well represented across our family of schools. Students harness their love for the environment and nature, proposing and driving initiatives to make our school as environmentally friendly as it can be.
They also explore worldwide climate concerns and take part in local, national and global initiatives to protect our planet. Sub-groups of our environmental and climate change committees provide further opportunity for pupils to maintain school garden plots, grow vegetables and herbs for the school kitchen, and practice mindfulness in the great outdoors.
LAMDA
LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) lessons are popular with pupils of all ages at NBH, developing children into confident communicators with a lifelong passion for the arts. An award-winning organisation, LAMDA offers world-renowned qualifications in communication and performance, and inspire the next generation in drama, literature and poetry.
Our students are regularly awarded merits and distinctions in their graded performances, developing as artists and performers both independently and collaboratively.
Music Tuition
Music is a large part of the vibrant life at North Bridge House and is celebrated both within and beyond the curriculum. Across all schools we host a colourful variety of concerts and performances, which present great a opportunity for our various choirs; orchestras; school bands; strings, woodwind and percussion ensembles to perform. Popular after school clubs include Ukulele Club for our Pre-Prep instrumentalists and Rock School for our Senior superstars.
Children also enjoy one-to-one music tuition throughout our Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior Schools, with expert peripatetic teachers contributing to our rich instrumental offering of Cello, Clarinet, Fife, Flute, French Horn, Guitar, Mini Bassoon, Piano, Recorder, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet and Violin. Lessons are provided for all levels, starting from complete beginner, and many of our pupils work towards their graded examinations.
Sport for All
Specialist teachers deliver sport for all children aged 4 and above as we believe PE and Games are key to promoting character development and wellbeing through the curriculum. Our extra-curricular programme also provides a wealth of opportunity for pupils to embrace their competitive spirit.
We enter and win many ISA (Independent School’s Association) tournaments and students enjoy competing in local, national and international events in a range of sports. But you do not have to be competitive to make the most of our extra-curricular sports offering; we have designed our broad range of activities around finding that one sport for everyone, whatever the level. We rotate seasonal sports according to the term we are in, while our on-site facilities and proximity to some of the best indoor and outdoor venues in the country facilitate new and alternative interests.
CLUBS AVAILABLE
From the outset of every child’s education, we support them in becoming the leaders of tomorrow.
Our wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities is designed to spark curiosity beyond the formal curriculum and foster a breadth of character which will equip our young people for future success.
We offer the Early Years children everything from yoga and ballet to gardening and Italian, while our Prep School students enjoy access to an after school provision that includes over 30 clubs.
By the time our pupils reach the Senior School, we offer breaktime and after school clubs, plus a timetabled enrichment programme which covers around 20 different topics aimed specifically at character education.
Our enrichment activities include:
