In today’s competitive job market, we recognise the importance of equipping our students with the necessary tools and insights to confidently navigate their career paths.

Last week, Year 9 students at North Bridge House Senior Hampstead attended the annual Careers Fair, a cornerstone event which is designed to offer not only an overview of various careers, but invaluable opportunities for soft skill development and networking. Students engaged with a range of industry professionals to explore areas of interest and the GCSE and A Level subject choices needed to pursue future career aspirations, whilst getting advanced interview practice.

Networking with Potential Employers: Our students were able to network with a diverse range of employers, creating pathways for potential work experience placements and internships. These connections serve as crucial stepping stones towards future career opportunities and professional growth.

Exploring Entry-Level Opportunities: From entry-level positions to executive roles, the Careers Fair showcased a broad spectrum of career pathways across various industries. Engaging with industry professionals provided students with clarity regarding potential career trajectories and the necessary steps to achieve their goals.

Interview Practice and Skill Development: Approaching an industry professional at this young age can be a little intimidating and so learning how to introduce themselves, market themselves and ask insightful questions etc. enabled our students to hone essential skills for future job searches in which they will need to make a lasting impression at interview.

The success of the Careers Fair was made possible through a collaborative effort, with dedicated parent volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds contributing their expertise. From architecture and design to engineering, our fair showcased a myriad of career possibilities, igniting curiosity and sparking exploration among our students.

One standout area that captured students’ attention was the focus on the low carbon economy and sustainable development. Students were captivated as they learned about innovative approaches to building a greener, more sustainable future.
